Update

Yes, I took Jake to the doctor.

Yes, we are having blood drawn tomorrow.

Yes, it's probably nothing.

And no, they did not call me crazy.

No. That would not warrant being called crazy...even after you left! I'm glad they drew blood. I'm sure it won't be anything serious.

Something like this happened to us, too:
Our son had been tired and uncommonly wellbehaved for a while. My husband worried. I said he's just growing up, getting more sensible. Then one day he had HUGE swollen glands on his neck, and we took him to the doctor. She was clearly alarmed, and sent him to get blood drawn. Then she called us: we were to take him to the hospital to be admitted ASAP - the numbers were way off. As you can imagine, we were scared shitless. My husband took him to the hospital. A young doctor was just about to do a spinal tap when the head doctor burst through the door and told him to NOT do that. The numbers were actually not that much off considering his age. It turned out our son had a virus and a bacterial infection at the same time. The glands were caused by the immune system finally kicking in big time. He cleared both infections on his own, and I swore to never, ever complain about him being noisy or not able to sit still ever again.
We learned to count our blessings, as I am confident you will.
Best wishes, Ulla

Thanks, Ulla. I'm sure it will be fine.

Mostly sure.
